The 8th ICM Theory and Computation Workshop will be held in the beautiful environment of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium in Brno, Czech Republic.

This workshop is a continuation of a series of highly successful and stimulating meetings, the intent of which has been to create an interactive environment involving researchers who share overlapping interests in the physics and dynamics of the intracluster medium.

It will bring together a number of theoretical/computational astrophysicists, experts in plasma physics, and a select group of observers to exchange expertise through talks and informal discussions. Our objective is to facilitate collaboration among the participants who share closely related interests in the physics of ICM and AGN feedback. In light of new observational results in X-rays with the XRISM satellite and in radio, as well as recent progress in computation, we believe that this workshop is particularly timely.

Key Topics

  • shocks, cold fronts, and turbulence in the ICM
  • radio-mode AGN feedback and its multi-wavelength signals
  • multiphase gas and its dynamics
  • magnetic fields and ICM transport properties
  • non-thermal component/cosmic rays and radio emissions
  • numerical methods for modelling cluster plasma
